The Ninja Foodi 6-in-1 8-qt. 2-Basket Air Fryer with DualZone Technology (model DZ201) is a two-drawer air fryer with 8 quarts of total capacity. Its main advantage is not simply that total: it divides the capacity into two independently controlled 4-quart zones and coordinates them through Smart Finish or duplicates settings through Match Cook.
This is a research review, not a Hungry Bangla hands-on test. The DZ201 is a long-running Ninja DualZone model that remains widely retailed and continues to receive manufacturer documentation and replacement-parts support. It is not the DZ401, DZ550, DZ801, SL201, or DZ100.
Hungry Bangla did not physically test the DZ201. This review synthesizes official Ninja and SharkNinja owner documentation and support information, RTINGS exact-model DZ201 standardized testing, Tom's Guide and TechGearLab hands-on testing, and Amazon only for ASIN and product-identity verification. No numeric Hungry Bangla rating is assigned.
Design, dimensions, and 8-quart capacity
Ninja lists the DZ201 at 8 quarts total, split between two 4-quart baskets. Rated input is 1,690W on 120V / 60Hz power, with a 105°F–450°F temperature range. Manufacturer dimensions are 15.63 inches long by 13.86 inches wide by 12.4 inches high, and manufacturer weight is 17.86 pounds. The owner guide requires at least 6 inches / 15.25 cm of clearance above and on all sides.
RTINGS measured the unit separately at 12.3 inches high by 15.6 inches wide by 13.8 inches deep. Those figures are independently measured and oriented differently from Ninja's listed length × width × height dimensions; they should not be treated as a direct conflict.

DualZone: two independent 4-quart baskets
The DZ201's 8 quarts do not form one uninterrupted 8-quart chamber. Each 4-quart basket has its own cooking basket, fan, and heater. That layout is useful for a main plus a side, two foods needing different temperatures, or two matching batches. It is less suitable for a wide uninterrupted food, a very large single piece, or a casserole-style dish that needs one broad chamber.
RTINGS measured 8.0 quarts of capacity, a 43.4 in² floor in each basket, 86.7 in² combined floor area, and 3.7 inches of chamber height. The combined floor area is meaningful for arranging compatible food in a single layer, but it does not change the physical divider between the two zones.
Ninja says the appliance can hold up to 4 lb of fries or wings total. That is a manufacturer-stated total food-capacity claim, not evidence that a dense 4-lb batch will cook evenly or remain in a single layer.
Smart Finish and Match Cook explained
Smart Finish
Smart Finish coordinates start times so two independently configured zones finish together. First configure both zones separately, then select Smart Finish and start cooking. The zone with the longer program begins first; the shorter program displays Hold. The second basket starts when the remaining cook times align.
This is a staggered-start system. It does not claim to alter the selected temperature or recipe duration. The manual also notes that pausing only one zone can disrupt synchronization, so pause both zones when preserving the planned simultaneous finish matters.
Match Cook
Match Cook is for larger quantities of the same food, or two foods requiring identical settings. Configure Zone 1, press Match Cook, and the unit copies Zone 1's program, temperature, and time to Zone 2 before both zones begin together.
Two boundaries matter: Air Broil cannot be used with Match Cook, and Air Broil cannot operate in both zones simultaneously. Those limitations make the feature a useful batch-cooking shortcut rather than an every-mode duplication tool.
Six cooking functions
The DZ201 has six documented functions: Air Fry, Air Broil, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate. The owner guide reviewed does not provide a sufficiently complete verified chart of all default temperatures, default times, and function-specific selectable temperature ranges. This review therefore omits those settings rather than guessing.

RTINGS exact-model performance
RTINGS tested the exact DZ201 using its Methodology v1.0.2. Its measured maximum power draw was 1,540W, while it measured approximately 1,470W when only one basket was used. Those are laboratory draw measurements; Ninja's 1,690W figure remains the appliance's manufacturer-rated input, not a number corrected by RTINGS.

RTINGS measured 2:08 to reach 400°F, a 2:45 recovery after food was added, and a 19°F temperature variation at 400°F. RTINGS characterizes this as strong temperature stability for the DZ201. These results are useful exact-model evidence, but they do not eliminate the need to check food, shake where appropriate, or follow food-safety guidance.
Frying uniformity and batch results
RTINGS' standardized fry test produced 72.7% crispy, 24.2% undercooked, and 3.0% overcooked fries. In other words, it produced mostly crispy pieces, but nearly a quarter remained undercooked by the point a small portion had already begun to overcook. The evidence does not support calling its frying perfectly even or claiming that the large capacity eliminates shaking.
Tom's Guide reported strong Brussels sprouts, chicken wings, breaded chicken, frozen fries in some tests, and burgers. Its tester found homemade fries weaker. In Tom's Guide's high-load Match Cook test, each basket was loaded with a 32-ounce bag of frozen fries. After 30 minutes, the results were very uneven, with some fries crisp and dry while others remained pale and soft. That review found the two-zone workflow useful, but also described a learning curve and a physically large, heavy appliance.
TechGearLab found good zone temperature accuracy and straightforward cleaning. It also reported some uneven batches; in its onion-ring test, the left basket cooked faster than the right. That is an observation from one test, not evidence that Zone 1 always cooks faster. TechGearLab also reported no automatic pause when a basket was removed during its testing.
Cleaning and coating
Ninja's owner documentation describes nonstick baskets and nonstick crisper plates. RTINGS identifies the crisper trays on its tested DZ201 as ceramic-coated. These descriptions can sit together without extending the claim: Ninja's documentation does not establish the exact coating chemistry used here.

This review does not call the coating PTFE-free, PFAS-free, PFOA-free, or non-toxic because exact manufacturer support for those claims was not verified.
Contextual alternatives
The Instant Vortex Plus ClearCook + OdorErase is a 6-quart single-zone model with a viewing window, internal light, odor-filter system, and a 400°F ceiling. Choose the Ninja when independently controlled zones and synchronized meals matter more; choose the Instant when its ClearCook visibility and single-basket workflow are the priority.
The Ninja Air Fryer Max XL AF161 is a smaller 5.5-quart single-basket alternative with a 450°F Max Crisp mode. The Ninja Air Fryer Pro AF141 and COSORI TurboBlaze are also single-basket options for buyers who do not need independently controlled zones.
For newer Ninja context, RTINGS finds the DZ801 preheats and cooks slightly faster, while the DZ201 has more basket surface area and a wider measured fan-speed range.
